American Theatre's 25th Anniversary Benefit

Save the Date!

In April of 1984, with a cowboy-clad Sam Shepard on the cover, the first issue of American Theatre magazine hit the stands - its mission: to communicate and contextualize the trends and concerns of not-for-profit theatre in America. On Monday, April 20, 2009, TCG invites you to join theatrical luminaries, member theatres, TCG published authors, and magazine subscribers for a benefit celebration of American Theatre magazine's 25th Anniversary. We will celebrate the legacy of American Theatre magazine with drinks, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, and a good, old-fashioned party. In conjunction with the event, TCG Books will publish a reader of significant and insightful articles from the magazine’s first quarter century. The April anniversary issue of the magazine will look ahead, featuring 25 theatre artists who are currently working to shape the next25 years. American Theatre magazine will charge into the next quarter century with innovations aimed at making its communication more immediate and the context even more transparent.

The benefit celebration will take place in the evening on April 20, 2009, in New York City. Save the date now! It will be an amazing evening, with old and new friends of the magazine coming together to relish our past, envision our future, and raise funds to make that vision a reality for the next generation of American Theatre artists.
