Dollars and Sense: Leadership and Governance in 2003
New York City, November 14-16, 2003
TCG's forums give theatre leaders the chance to hear some of the most provocative thinkers in the field and to engage with their peers in an intimate and informal setting. This year's Forum brought together approximately 140 participants, including artistic and management leaders and trustees, to provide an opportunity for in-depth discussion on leadership and governance issues.
The Forum commenced early evening on Friday, November 14, with a cocktail reception, dinner and keynote address at the historic Tavern on the Green in Central Park. This year's keynote was Mark Moore, Director of the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard University and author of Creating Public Value: Strategic Management in Government. The forum continued all day Saturday at the Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre, with the evening free for participants to explore New York and its lively theatre scene. The Forum concluded in the early afternoon on Sunday, November 16.
Attendance to the annual Fall Forum is open to staff and trustees of TCG member theatres only. This year, TCG increased the number of participants who may attend from each theatre from 3 to 5, and encouraged theatres to use this increase to bring teams of trustees for deeper impact on their boards.
