Snapshot Surveys
Snapshot Surveys are short surveys that focus on various topics such as software and technology, international collaborations, touring and the effects of 9/11 on the theatre field. This format allows TCG to gather and disseminate information quickly and to identify new areas for investigation. Some Snapshot Surveys are more comprehensive and are administered at regular intervals. These include the Employee Benefits Survey, Governing Boards Survey and Education Survey. All past Snapshot Surveys can be found by searching the Archives. The search tool is located on the left side of this page.
- Governing Boards Survey
Conducted every three years, most recently in 2007, TCG’s Governing Boards Survey explores various facets of not-for-profit boards of directors, including board composition and structure, board policies, board development, board/staff relations and board committees. The survey results in an in-depth governance report that is a valuable resource for trustees and managers alike. Reports from Governing Boards Survey 2007 and past surveys can be found in the Centerpiece Archives. - Employee Benefits Survey: Last conducted in fall 2005, the Employee Benefits Survey polls member theatres on topics related to their employee benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid leave and more.
- Education Survey: An annual survey that gathers information about the educational and outreach activities of the TCG membership. Theatres are asked to outline types of education and audience development plans they offer, budget information and federal sources for funding those programs as well as education-related and long-term goals.
