Scholarships and Subsidies


Scholarship and subsidy opportunities are available to folks experiencing critical needs or financial hardship. A minimum of 51% of support will be awarded to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), TGNC, and disability communities. In addition, TCG encourages multigenerational representation and applications from those who are: 30 years old and under, 60 years old and over.

Members of any committees associated with TCG or this National Conference should not apply for these scholarships and subsidies as there may be support through different means; please inquire through your TCG point of contact.

Should an applicant apply before the early bird registration deadline and not receive a scholarship or subsidy, they will be eligible for the early bird registration rate past the early bird registration deadline.

For your convenience, we've provided a list of the application questions. Please note that this list is NOT the application form. It is designed to assist applicants in navigating the application portal with ease, preventing the need to toggle between pages during the application preparation process. Application materials must be submitted via the TCG ONLINE APPLICATION PORTAL only.

TCG is committed to ensuring recipients incur as few out-of-pocket expenses as possible. Should there be any minor amounts, TCG will reimburse you within 14 business days upon receipt of the required documentation from the recipients.

IN-PERSON ATTENDEES


There are three structures of support for in-person attendees, based on proximity to Hyatt Regency Chicago.

1. Applicants who reside beyond 50 miles from Hyatt Regency Chicago may receive:

  •  A full scholarship, which covers:
    • 100% of the registration fee
    • 3 nights at Hyatt Regency Chicago (the nights of June 19 - 21, 2024)
    • roundtrip economy flights and/or trains to and from Chicago
    • a three-day CTA/Pace Pass; OR
  • A Registration Scholarship, which covers 100% of the registration fee; OR
  •  A Registration Subsidy, which covers 50% of the Regular registration rate (see pricing here).

The deadline for applicants who reside beyond 50 miles from Hyatt Regency Chicago is extended to Friday, February 9, 2024 at: 11:59pm ET, 10:59pm CT, 9:59pm MT, 8:59pm PT, 7:59pm AT, 6:59pm HT, 2:59pm UTC+10 (on February 9, 2024)  

2. Applicants who reside within 50 miles from Hyatt Regency Chicago and without access to public transportation offered by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) may receive:

  • A full scholarship, which covers:
    • 100% of the registration fee
    • a three-day CTA/Pace Pass
    • ground transportation up to $250; OR
  • A Registration Scholarship, which covers 100% of the registration fee; OR 
  • A Registration Subsidy, which covers 50% of the Regular registration rate (see pricing here).

The deadline for applicants who reside within 50 miles from Hyatt Regency Chicago and without access to public transportation offered by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is Friday, April 5, 2024 at: 11:59pm ET, 10:59pm CT, 9:59pm MT, 8:59pm PT, 7:59pm AT, 5:59pm HT, 1:59pm UTC+10 (on April 6, 2024)

3. Applicants who reside within 50 miles from Hyatt Regency Chicago and with access to public transportation offered by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) may receive:

  • A full scholarship, which covers:
    • 100% of the registration fee
    • a three-day CTA/Pace Pass
    • additional ground transportation up to $90; OR
  • A Registration Scholarship, which covers 100% of the registration fee; OR
    A Registration Subsidy, which covers 50% of the Regular registration rate (see pricing here).

The deadline for applicants who reside within 50 miles from Hyatt Regency Chicago and with access to public transportation offered by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is Friday, April 5, 2024 at: 11:59pm ET, 10:59pm CT, 9:59pm MT, 8:59pm PT, 7:59pm AT, 5:59pm HT, 1:59pm UTC+10 (on April 6, 2024)

VIRTUAL ATTENDEES

Applicants who wish to attend the National Conference virtually may receive:

  • A Registration Scholarship which covers 100% of the registration fee; OR
  • A Registration Subsidy which deeply discounts Virtual Registration and renders a $50.00 registration rate.
